If your doctor agrees, repeat prescriptions can be ordered and collected from your chosen pharmacy or our reception. Please note form the 1st August 2025 you will no longer be able to call the surgery to place prescription requests.
Each prescription will have an up-to-date medication list attached. Keep it and use it to re-order.
Repeat prescriptions should be requested with 2 working days notice between 10.00 am – 6.30 pm Monday to Friday either
• Online using the NHS App, Airmid, or SystmOnline
• By dropping off your repeat slip at Reception
• Via our prescription drop-off box or letterbox when we are closed
For each item on the medication list there may be an expiry date. This is to remind you to attend for a routine check of your medical problem with either the nurse or doctor before your repeat prescription is further extended.
We would encourage you to order all the prescription items you will require in the following month at the same time.
Help with NHS costs
In England, around 90% of prescription items are dispensed free. This includes exemptions from charging for those on low incomes, such as:
These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
There is further information about prescription exemptions and fees on the NHS website.
